Covenants.

 



The Church of Jesus Christ is known as a church that emphasizes making covenants with God. Covenants are inherent in each of the ordinances of salvation and exaltation this restored Church administers.

Can you be saved, much less exalted,


If on your covenants you have defaulted?


All you who trifle with God’s lawful way


Should know that your freedom costs too much to pay!


Come back to the gospel, the temple, the plan,


That keeps you protected from devil and man.


These words that I tell you, I also must heed:


For mercy, forgiveness, I too always plead.


No one’s immune from a swift fall from grace;


But keeping the covenants my sins may efface!


For Christ can lead anyone down the true path


That keeps them from sorrow, from torment, from wrath!
